Aheneah is a Portuguese artist, who mixes her knowledge in design with the precious embroidery teachings of her grandmothers.
Her artistic journey is marked by a constant exploration of the connections between digital and analog mediums. Aheneah's work explores the decontextualization of traditional techniques to transform them into contemporary graphics. Like pixels in a digital context, each strand of wool or fabric that she uses in her artwork creates true paintings.
Her work connects cultures and generations around universal skills deployed on the walls of the streets of Europe, such as the mythical cross-stitch. Recently, Aheneah has been working on smaller formats, transposing her initial large-scale technique to a more detailed and delicate form.
