Châtelet – Ligne 4

RATP and production company QUAI 36 have joined forces to offer passengers on line 4 of the Paris metro a unique ephemeral artistic experience. 4 French and international street-art figures will cover 425 m² of space, in 2 frescoes some 70 metres long and 3 metres high: 2 pioneers of French ubrain art, Yann l'Outsider and Arnaud Liard, and international plant art talents Julien Colombier and Pastel. This initiative ties in with the modernization of line 4. It adds an exceptional dimension to this metamorphosis, and aims to embellish the emblematic Châtelet station for the duration of the works.

To ensure color harmony throughout, the artists agreed on a palette of eight common dominant colors. The colors of the signage on the two platforms, blue and magenta, will be present in touches. The four artists combine their styles to create an original immersion experience. Their compositions, somewhere between figurative and abstract, offer different levels of reading of the frescoes by users.
