Gilbert Mazout

Gilbert Mazout is born in Lomé, Togo and currently lives in France. He nourishes his work form his own cultural mix and his African, Asian and European roots. Whichever the chosen support, one can find pop art color flat tint, plastic language of comic books, free figuration and street art gesture. One can also find in his work, ancestors and voodoo cult, particularly under his dogs' features, whom became a recurring hero and logo.

Using pure pigments, solvents, chalk, sprays, markers, tape and stickers, Gilbert Petit freely invests the public space, always searching for new transpositions of urban art gesture.

Visual artist in the broadest sense : he practices painting, illustration as well as graphic design.
