ERON - 2019
"The Monument" - Eron
In this fresco, "Le Monument", Eron conjures the complexity of our relationship with nature up. Depicted as tamed but also wild and free, this work bings up the question of the interdependence of our relationship.
The Bernard de Jussieu neighborhood, constructed in the 1960s, has had its housing estate renovated by a group orchestrated by Eiffage Construction (Ithaques, Vincent Lavergne Architecture & Urbanism and BETOM Ingénierie), in collaboration with the landlord Versailles Habitat and the City of Versailles. The thermal rehabilitation programme's aim is to improve the daily lives of the inhabitants.
Quai 36 joined the rehabilitation project and signs the artistic direction of the project #1096 (in reference to the 1096 rehabilitated housing units). Ten French and international mural artists invest the facade of a building, i.e. ten monumental 150 m² frescoes that are revealed to the eyes of the residents over a period of one year.
In tribute to the French botanist Bernard de Jussieu, the artists Aryz (Spain), Eron (Italy), Jade Rivera (Peru), Mona Caron (Switzerland), Pastel (Argentina), Saddo (Romania), Sainer (Poland), Seth (France), Telmo Miel (Netherlands), and Waone (Ukraine) are questioned about the relationship between humans and nature.
