GoddoG
GoddoG is the pseudonym of a self-taught urban artist and product of the Avignon scene. GoddoG’s introduction to graffiti came via painting. However, his first graphics, notably his mythical characters, differ from the style he has today: a universe that finds itself at the crossroads between abstract, urban art and Free Figuration.
Large-scale frescoes and paintings are displayed in galleries, lines and forms reveal imaginary geometric worlds in which landscapes, faces and symbols hide. The repetition of emblematic patterns in his works, by this same repetition, connects them to contemporary totems. Without any show of a mythical will, GoddoG’s work is riddled with symbolic, ethnic and dreamlike evocations.
