MOMO
MOMO is an American artist who began his experimental outdoor practice in the late 90s, working with homemade tools in the heart of urban space. His early projects were often ephemeral and vandal, combining mixed techniques from collage to computer code to masonry. His work then focused on commissioned murals for museums, municipalities and private entities in 12 countries, including several monumental interventions in France and Belgium.
In addition to institutional commissions, self-organized tours of ephemeral murals in Jamaica, Cuba, Sicily, Arizona, Sri Lanka and India (2013, 2016, 2018, 2023), painted at the artist's own expense, continue to be an important source of inspiration for introducing innovative techniques to a wide audience.
Born in San Francisco in 1974, MOMO has traveled most of his life. Considered an international pioneer of abstract urban art, he has lived in New York for six years, New Orleans for twelve and recently opened a studio in Florida.
