Saddo
Saddo lives and works in Bucarest. Romanian artist, illustrator and muralist, Saddo started his career as the founder of one of the first Romanian street art collectives, The Playground, during a time when newly graduated artists had few options other than becoming a professor or graphic designer.
His artistic work in the streets created a colorful and fresh perspective, opening up doors to new opportunities: commissioned work by advertising agencies, collaborations with galleries located in Bucharest, Vienna, Berlin, Copenhagen, Stockholm, New York, Los Angeles, Montreal, Ottawa, and Salvador, just to name a few.
He has done it all, from posters for horror films to urban art and cartoons. Of late, Saddo has been developing more elaborate forms, drawing influence from 15th and 17th century greats. The culmination of all these influences being ambiguous scenes placed against dreamlike backdrops, featuring hypnotic characters with beastlike features.
