Sébastien Preschoux

Sébastien Preschoux is a self-taught Parisian artist known for his handmade installations of stretched threads and geometric designs. The main characteristic distinguishing his art from many contemporary aesthetic concepts is his emphasis on manual work.

Inspired by the values of the Bauhaus movement, which proclaims the fundamental importance of manual tasks, Preschoux tends to remain faithful to the notion and, in his opinion, the only art that makes sense is the handmade one. This approach, which is quite in confrontation with the contemporary culture in which technology prevails, is essential for its critique of the arts and modern lifestyle.

Sébastien Preschoux praises the value and possibilities of the human body as the perfect tool for creating and appreciating art. He claims that it is enough to invest all our senses and show a little patience - and everyone could create what Sébastien does.

Using the mantra "man against machine", he tends to highlight the sterile falsity of the domination of technology that frightens him in contemporary culture.
