Taroe
Born in 1981 in Bayonne, 1995 marks Taroe’s introduction to the world of graffiti. Passionate and self-taught, he honed his craft on factory walls, vacant lost, and train cars he found along the way. Discovering new practices, he took to typography, design, and photography and developed different artistic identities alongside his painting.
He participated in numerous performances, and collaborations (set design, advertising campaigns, logos and illustrations) in painting and design.
Building on these successful experiences, naturally Taroe turned to new surfaces, including the canvas, developing his own unique pictorial style. Drawing inspiration from artists like, Richard Estes or Paul Roberts, as well as his travels, Taroe’s first large-scale works portray atmospheres of the urban jungle that you can find in every metropolis. His paintings can be seen at solo exhibitions or with other artists in France and abroad.
Constantly evolving and exploring different artistic mediums, his artwork takes on different forms as they travel from walls to canvases.
